So long 2020…as a final farewell I revisited some footage I recorded while biking from Prague to Sněžka - the highest peak in the Czech Republic. I did this ride on the weekend of July 4, 2020. The weather at the time was way too nice to do any video editing. Now, in the short and dark days of January, it is nice to review the footage of the beautiful weather I had that weekend.
This was a solid ride and included the biggest climb I’ve ever done in one shot. I started in Prague and actually crossed the Elbe (Labe in Czech) River along the way. The Elbe is the true lowest point of the Czech Republic, so I technically biked from the lowest to the highest point in the country in one 100 mile go. True to all Czech riding, there were lots of castles and beautiful countryside vistas along the way. Czech out the video below -
The next day I decided to turn around and bike all the way home. I didn’t include that painful journey in the video. The way back actually ended up being longer than the way there! I thought it would be all down hill from Sněžka, but I was very, very wrong. The whole weekend I ended up ticking somewhere in the range of 340 kilometers.
